Buenos Aires hosts the successful 10th International Forum of Tourism Leaders
Featuring broad participation from tourism practitioners, journalists and stakeholders from multiple countries, the 10th International Forum of Tourism Leaders, co-organised by the World Organization of Tourism Journalism (OMPT) and Asempio, concluded successfully.
Held in Buenos Aires, the event focused on analysing the major shifts taking place within tourism and communication, under the theme "Innovate to communicate: the new paradigm of tourism".
Throughout the forum, lectures and presentations offered diverse perspectives on tourism, covering innovation and new technologies, emotions and sensory experience, brand-building, as well as the challenges artificial intelligence brings to industry practitioners.
One major highlight of the event was its diversity of viewpoints. Specialists and practitioners from varied backgrounds shared experiences, expertise and insights, creating an exchange space that crosses the boundaries between tourism and communication.
The forum also carried important institutional significance for OMPT, which keeps expanding its international footprint and consolidating a community of tourism journalists across nations.
The event also unveiled the official flag of the World Organization of Tourism Journalism, entirely hand-embroidered by craftswoman Inés Ledesma. Its design incorporates flags of member countries and drawings inspired by photos submitted by tourism journalists, with the black acronym OMPT placed at its centre.
The flag-unveiling constituted one of the most symbolic moments of the gathering. It visually embodies the diversity and international nature of the organisation, which for years has united professionals committed to tourism-related communication.
The forum closed with a group photo of all participants, commemorating a day of training, debate, networking and celebration.
With this 10th edition, OMPT further establishes the International Forum of Tourism Leaders as a venue for reflecting on tourism's present and future from the standpoint of those responsible for communicating it.
The successful turnout and wide-ranging topics also highlight the necessity to keep building international platforms. Such platforms allow journalists, practitioners and tourism leaders to connect, share experiences and develop fresh perspectives for this constantly-evolving industry.
