Consacá welcomed over 40 international travel journalists from the WTJO

The mayor of Consacá, Weykman Alexey Jojoa Parra, welcomed more than 40 travel journalists from the World Travel Journalism Organization (WTJO), who arrived in the municipality to discover firsthand the attractions that make this destination a unique place in southern Colombia.
The official welcome took place at the Arco de la Batalla por la Independencia, a monument created by Jairo Andrés Barrera and Irlan Alegría, which pays tribute to the struggle for liberation. From there, the journalists toured the Boulevard del Libertador, ending at the "Piedra de Bolívar" , declared a National Monument of Colombia and a symbol of the country's historical memory.
During the visit, the international journalists were able to appreciate the town’s historical heritage, stunning mountainous landscapes, and rich local gastronomy,elements that come together in Consacá to offer a complete travel experience.
With pleasant weather all year round, the municipality presents itself as an ideal place for rest and connection with nature. Its traditional dishes, made with time-honored recipes, reveal the region’s authentic flavors, while its mountains, trails, and viewpoints offer unforgettable panoramic views.
The hospitality of its people was another aspect most highlighted by the visitors, who recognized the warmth of the consaqueños as a key value that turns every visit into a close and memorable experience.
With this event, Consacá reaffirms its tourism and cultural vocation, positioning itself as a destination with great potential within the historical and nature-based circuits of Nariño and Colombia as a whole.
