Huellas Hostel Restó Opens in Downtown San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca

Huellas Hostel Restó officially opened on September 17, 2026, right in the heart of San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, at 390 San Martín Street. The site previously housed the Civil Registry Office.

As part of the opening events, travel journalists from the World Travel Journalism Organization

(OMPT) attended a pre-opening dinner during their stay in the province.

Housed in a building with deep local history, the project’s core principle was to preserve the original main structure of the historic building. The new venture was integrated into the premises while retaining the site’s essential features.

Huellas Hostel Restó also plans a future expansion to add a hostel section, making it possible to combine dining and accommodation within one venue.

Its gastronomic concept reimagines local flavours with modern inspirations, aiming to revive and reinterpret regional tastes through a contemporary lens.

With this project, Huellas Hostel Restó joins the hospitality offerings in downtown San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca. It brings together heritage building restoration, food culture and upcoming lodging services.

Miguel Ledhesma Celebrated His Birthday

A few days before the official opening, on September 13, travel journalists of the World Organization of Travel Journalism (OMPT) gathered for the pre-opening dinner at this new venue. The event carried a special meaning: to celebrate the birthday of its founding president, Miguel Ledhesma.

During the evening, OMPT members sampled Huellas Hostel Restó’s culinary offerings and enjoyed a gathering that blended great food with fellowship among travel journalists.

The tasting menu featured signature cocktails and assorted dishes, including quinoa empanadas and jigote, a traditional Catamarcan dish, alongside other dinner specials.
