Punta Cana prepares to welcome DATE 2025, the Caribbean’s leading travel event

From May 14 to 16, 2025, the Barceló Bávaro Convention Center in Punta Cana will host the 25th edition of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE), the leading travel trade show in the Dominican Republic. Organized by the Asociación de Hoteles y Turismo de la República Dominicana (Asonahores), the event will bring together over 500 national and international delegates, consolidating its role as a key platform for promoting the Dominican tourism industry on a global scale.

This year, DATE 2025 is expected to surpass 8,000 business meetings, exceeding the 7,000 held in previous editions. The focus will be on promoting a public-private agenda that drives emerging destinations such as Pedernales, Miches, and La Romana-Bayahibe, while strengthening established ones like Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, and Punta Cana.

The event will be supported by major sponsors including the Ministerio de Turismo, Barceló Hotel Group, Bahía Príncipe Hotels & Resorts, Meliá Hotels International, Banco Popular Dominicano, Banreservas, Banco BHD, Coco Bongo, Palladium Hotel Group, Consorcio Energético Punta Cana Macao (CEPM), and Therrestra.

In addition to business meetings, DATE 2025 will also celebrate key business milestones. For instance, the Dominican company Soluciones Decorativas Hoteleras J&P (SDH) will commemorate its 10th anniversary during the event, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in hotel furniture design and supply.

With a 25-year history, DATE has established itself as a strategic event for promoting sustainable tourism and attracting investment to the Dominican Republic. The 2025 edition promises to be a showcase for the country’s diverse and high-quality tourism offerings, reinforcing its leadership in the Caribbean and Latin America.
