Registrations open for the 11th edition of the International Open Passport Award to be held in Panama

The World Travel Journalism Organization (WTJO) has announced the opening of registrations for the 11th edition of the International Open Passport Award, which will take place in Panama from January 29 to February 5, 2026.
This prestigious award recognizes the work of journalists, communicators, destinations, and organizations that promote tourism with ethics, responsibility, creativity, and innovation. Since its inception, the award has become the most important event in international travel journalism, celebrating the union between communication, culture, and sustainability.
Applicants can submit their entries starting today and until November 22, 2025, presenting their work in the various categories that highlight publications, experiences, and careers contributing to the development of responsible tourism worldwide.
Applications are completely free and must be submitted to the email miguelledhesma@gmail.com The nominees will be announced on December 7 during an official event in Mexico.
As in previous years, nominees who attend the event will receive accommodation, meals, and guided tours, in addition to receiving five extra points in the jury’s evaluation.
