Sendero Yakã'î : a journey into the guaraní soul in the Valle del Cuña Pirú

In the heart of the Valle del Cuña Pirú , in the province of Misiones, a unique experience invites visitors to immerse themselves in the ancient knowledge of one of the Mbya Guaraní communities that have inhabited this land since time immemorial. This is the Sendero  Yakã'î —which in Guaraní means "arroyito" , "small stream" — an active and cultural tourism proposal guided by Mbya hosts who open the doors to their world, worldview, and their deep connection with nature.

The journey begins with an interpretive walk that connects the visitor with the forest, local crops, and the songs of the birds. With every step, the guaraní guides share stories, teachings, and practices that reflect harmony with nature and respect for the environment. Key highlights of the experience include exploring the traditional uses of plants, the importance of water for communal life, and the customs passed down through generations.

One of the most special moments is arriving at the arroyo  Cuña Pirú. Here, in a serene and pristine environment, visitors have the opportunity to bathe in the crystal-clear waters, within guaraní territories. It’s a moment of deep, almost sacred connection with the spirit of the place.

The experience concludes with a display of extraordinary local craftsmanship: fine wickerwork woven with natural fibers and wooden carvings depicting scenes of life, wildlife, and guaraní spirituality. These are unique pieces that not only decorate but also tell stories.

The Sendero Yakã'î  is not just a walk. It’s an invitation to listen, learn, and feel the energy of a people living in sync with the land. A transformative experience that allows us to view the present of indigenous communities with respect, encounter, and admiration.
