The 12th edition of the International Open Passport Award to be held in Brazil in 2026 is announced in Panama

During the 11th edition of the International Open Passport Award, held on January 30 in Panama City, the host city and dates for the next edition of the award were officially announced. The announcement was made by Carmola Cândido, representative of the destination Campos do Jordão, who confirmed that the 12th edition of the award will take place in that Brazilian city from November 23 to 30, 2026.
The announcement took place within the framework of the event that brought together journalists, communicators, institutions, and tourism leaders from different countries, and was presented as one of the most significant institutional moments of the day. The confirmation of the host city marked the beginning of a new stage for the International Open Passport Award, reaffirming its itinerant nature and its regional and international projection.
During her remarks, Carmola Cândido highlighted the importance of Campos do Jordão hosting an international event linked to travel journalism, and emphasized the destination’s commitment to tourism development, local identity, and the articulation between communication and territory.
The World Travel Journalism Organization emphasized that the selection of Campos do Jordão responds to its positioning as one of Brazil’s most emblematic destinations, as well as to its track record in promoting responsible tourism with a strategic vision. The 12th edition will feature a week of activities, including the award ceremony, institutional meetings, and spaces for exchange among professionals in the sector.
With dates confirmed from November 23 to 30, 2026, the next edition of the International Open Passport Award is projected as a key milestone to continue strengthening travel journalism and the link between destinations, communicators, and communities.
