A Peruvian is the First to Enter the Hall of Fame of Travel Journalism

During the awards ceremony of the ninth edition of the International Open Passport Award, held on March 1st in Buenos Aires, travel journalist Miguel Ledhesma announced the inauguration of the Hall of Fame of Travel Journalism. This new recognition aims to highlight those professionals who have made a significant impact in promoting responsible tourism in their countries on a global level.
On this occasion, the first journalist designated to join the Hall of Fame is Peruvian Eric Augusto Barrantes García, a professional with a distinguished career in travel journalism. His work has notably contributed to the visibility and valorization of destinations, promoting the development of the sector through effective and committed communication.
Miguel Ledhesma, President of the World Travel Journalism Organization, emphasized the importance of this initiative: “The Hall of Fame of Travel Journalism is born as a space to recognize those who have dedicated their lives to communicating the wonders of the world and its culture. Eric Barrantes is an example of the commitment and professionalism that inspires future generations of communicators.”
The Open Passport Award gala has become a benchmark in recognizing excellence in tourism communication, and with this new distinction, the commitment to preserving the legacy of great journalists in the sector is further strengthened.
