DATE 2025 concludes successfully at Barceló Bávaro: more business, more countries and greater international impact

With a highly positive outcome and notable international participation, the latest edition of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE 2025) concluded this Friday. This event, the most important tourism marketing event in the Dominican Republic, is organized by the Asociación de Hoteles y Turismo de la República Dominicana (Asonahores). The event took place at the iconic hotel Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort, bringing together leaders from the local and international tourism sector for three days of intense business meetings, strategic exchanges, and Caribbean destination promotion.


Aguie Lendor, Executive Vice President of Asonahores, provided the final conclusions of the event, highlighting that at this DATE, "more meetings, more business, and greater value" were achieved, emphasizing the focus on the quality of business encounters. This aligns with the goal of boosting an increasingly competitive, sustainable, and diversified tourism sector.


Record figures for Dominican tourism


The 2025 edition exceeded all expectations:

  • Over 800 delegates participated in the event.

  • More than 130 companies were present, including tour operators, airlines, hotel chains, and travel agents.

  • Delegations from over 15 countries attended, alongside a significant presence of specialized international press.


This edition reinforced the Dominican Republic's commitment to consolidating its position as a tourism leader in the Caribbean and Latin America, integrating innovation, hospitality, and sustainable development. New tourism products such as nature tourism, wellness, sports, and culture were promoted, aligning with the strategies of the Ministry of Tourism and the private sector.


An evolving DATE


Unlike previous years, DATE 2025 featured a more dynamic agenda, with more efficient networking spaces, a renewed technology platform for scheduling meetings, and greater representation from emerging markets. This represented a key advance compared to past editions. Opportunities for visibility were also strengthened for small and medium-sized tourism service providers, integrating them into the international ecosystem of the event.


Since its inception, DATE has been a strategic showcase for demonstrating the strength of Dominican tourism products, and this year it proved that once again, solidifying its status as a world-class event in an environment that combined business, hospitality, and the incomparable beauty of Punta Cana.


With this successful edition concluded, eyes are already set on DATE 2026, which promises to continue the line of innovation, market expansion, and pursuit of excellence that have defined this prominent Caribbean tourism platform.
