As part of the 10th edition of the Open Passport Award, held in Nariño, Colombia, local artistry took center stage thanks to the participation of renowned regional creators.
The centerpieces that adorned the ceremony were handcrafted by Nariño artisans, who highlighted the cultural identity of this Andean region through their talent and tradition. The pieces were created by Maestra Mary Ortega, Angélica Chiles, and Camilo Varona “Makaco,” artists who blended ancestral and contemporary techniques to offer unique and symbolic designs.
The presence of these crafts not only enhanced the international event but also served as a showcase of Nariño’s cultural heritage, reaffirming the Open Passport Award’s commitment to promoting local talents and honoring artistic expressions that enrich the tourism experience.
