The Ruta Macondo del Gran Caribe colombiano, which brings together 25 cities, has been officially incorporated into the Red Mundial de Destinos Emergentes, thanks to the efforts of the Corporación Regional de Turismo del Gran Caribe—a platform that coordinates public and private initiatives from various departments to establish a multi-destination tourism circuit with a biocultural identity.
The Red Mundial de Destinos Emergentes, driven by the World Travel Journalism Organization (WTJO), aims primarily to strengthen the visibility of these regions through the publication of content in more than 600 international media outlets, as well as to provide free training for residents in communication and travel promotion.
This new step further solidifies the Ruta Macondo ’s position as a narrative circuit that weaves together tradition, diversity, and sustainability—connecting towns and experiences under a single story: that of the Gran Caribe colombiano.
The WTJO celebrates this incorporation as a milestone that will allow more communities to share their own stories with the world, fostering development with identity and a sense of belonging.
